Welcome to my web site!

This web-site was created to help you be successful in this class. Please familiarize yourself with its contents as you may need to use it sometime in the future.  Throughout the school year these pages will be updated to keep you, and your parents, informed of what is going on in the class.  Each week I will try to post the weekly assignments on the site to keep you informed of what will be happening in each class during that week.  This will hopefully be posted every Monday.

The purpose of this page is to provide class information that will  make this year more successful for you. This page will also serve as a class newsletter to keep you, and your parent(s)/guardian(s) informed of such happenings as tests, projects, and other important events as they are scheduled.

Attendance
Attendance is taken at the beginning of each class period.  It is your resposibility to be in the room and seated before the bell rings.  If you are tardy for a class, it must be cleared with a pass from the office.  Remember, if you miss more than 10 classes in a semester you may not receive credit for that class.

Daily Requirements
Everyday, you are expected to report to class with your textbook, a notebook, folder, and something with which to write.  Keep all your papers and handouts in your folders.  Do not store them in your textbooks.  You are required to have your agenda passport with you each day.  Handouts and worksheets must go in folders or binders, not in textbooks.  Textbooks must be covered.

Assignments
At the upper right side of all assignments you will put your first and last name, class period, and the date.  All work must be neat,readable, and written with correct spelling and punctuation.  Papers that do not meet this standard will not receive full credit and will be handed back to you to be corrected before full credit is given.

Materials Needed for this Class

1. 3-Ring binder and paper (2" or larger highly recommended)

2. Folder for Handouts

3. Colored Pencils

4. Pens/Pencils

5. Book cover

 Grading

To successfully pass this class each quarter you must have all work completed. Students who do not complete all items will not receive a passing grade for the quarter.  Tests may be retaken until a student receives a passing grade up to a “C” grade.  There is no limit on the number of times a student can retake a test as long it is done before the next test is given.   I will never fail a student who makes an honest effort at all their work and who always tries his/her best.

  Grades are based on the following percentages:

  70% on tests/quizzes

  15% on daily work

  15% on attendance and participation

  Grading Scale:

  A = 100% – 90%

  B = 89% – 80%

  C = 79% - 70%

  D = 69% - 60%

  F = 59% or less

Extra Credit opportunities will be available during each quarter.
